Fell race

Our annual Rise Hill Fell Race covers 2.9 miles (4.7km) and includes a hill top summit (1358 feet of ascent, 422m) with a course record of 25:28 in 2009. We had over 150 competitors last year and are expecting a similar number for 2011 so come along, maybe join in and support this spectacular event on the Saturday afternoon of Dentdale Show.

Last years champion was Stuart Bond with 26min 35sec; the best record in held by – Male s Bailey 25min 28sec, female J Reedy 32min 11sec.

The race starts at Church Bridge, Dent (grid reference 707871) at 2pm, the minimum age for competitors is 16 and the entry fee on the day is £5. The contact for pre-race information is Peter Knapton in Dent on 015396 25463 or via email.
